Workplace Safety Training Courses

Workplace Safety Training

Workplace Safety courses have been created to provide online training according to OSHA safety requirements and can help prepare students for compliance exams. The series addresses disease and wellness, fire safety, sexual harassment, drugs, workplace hazards and a wide range of prevention and safety management techniques. Some sample course outlines follow:

The misuse of electricity can lead to serious accidents and property damage. This lesson gives the hazards associated with electricity and water, ungrounded electrical plugs, and damaged electrical cords and tools. It lists the types of injuries from electric shock and the correct emergency response to electrical injury.

Each employee working around scaffolds will recognize definitions and types of scaffolds, the potential hazards connected with their use, including electrical, structural instability, falls, and falling objects, and will demonstrate proper use of procedures required for working on or near scaffolds.

Fires are tragedies that can be prevented. This lesson explains the elements necessary for a fire to exist and gives steps you can take to prevent fires. You will learn how to report a fire and what procedures to follow if you are involved in a fire. Information is given on the types of fire extinguishers and which is appropriate for each class of fire.

In this course you will learn the health effects associated with asbestos exposure and how to identify signs used to warn employees of the presence of asbestos. The learner will also be able to identify the appropriate actions to take to minimize risk of inhaling asbestos fibers and how to identify employee rights and responsibilities when working with asbestos containing materials.

This lesson will familiarize you with how to identify a confined space and the hazards they present. You will learn the procedures to use before entering a confined space, the safety precautions to take when in a confined space, and the requirements for rescue.
